Siv Lena and Ketil say farewell
A Lumsk baby is on it`s way, and we`ve had to find a new violinist and guitarist.
I don’t know who said it, but I guess it was a wise man; “History repeats itself”. For Lumsk that has been the truth from the beginning. I can’t even count the number of people I’ve played with in Lumsk since I first joined the band in 2000, and even before I became a member the band had experienced several changes in the line-up. Since 2000 I’ve played with four different bassists, two different drummers, six or seven different vocalists, four different guitarists, but surprisingly enough, only one violinist. Until now that is. It’s been some time since Ketil and Siv Lena became husband and wife, and in a couple of months they are expecting their first child. Therefore they have decided to part with Lumsk. As I understood it was a difficult decision, but I guess we all in a way more or less expected it to happen. We really wish them all the best, and we are nothing but happy on their behalf!
I have to apologize to our Danish fans. We have done something most disrespectful. Because of some health complications Siv Lena was unable to play with us in Denmark. On very short notice Jenny Gustafsson, a Swedish violinist remarkably similar to Siv Lena, played those four concerts with us. Some of our fans noticed that Siv Lena had changed quite a bit, and I guess they were right. Jenny did a really great job, and the response from our fans reflects this.
Ketil left the band right after the concerts in Denmark and in the last few weeks we’ve been rehearsing with a new guitarist; Håkan Lundkvist, also from Sweden. From the very first chord he played together with us we knew this was the right man for the job. Both Håkan and Jenny will be playing the next concerts with us, and the most probable outcome is that these two are the permanent replacements of Siv Lena and Ketil. We are very happy to have found two outstanding musicians and we welcome them to our little family.
