LUMSK is a pretty unique band with a real own style. Made of no more than seven members, the band proposes a music which sounds as a mix of traditional folk tunes, rock and metal, the whole sung in Norwegian. The main sounding is quite calm and folkloric, but a track like 'Ormin lange' for example, presents some very heavy metal riffs and rythmic basis. There's mainly female vocals which are supported here and there by some clear male voices which allows some mood's change as well as the violin player does. The four tracks of this demo have been extracted from the twelve writen by LUMSK to convert a medieval Norvegian tale into some atmospheric viking metal piece. Someone told me that the band signed some deal with someone like Sinefarm... it would be cool to hear some good news from them sooner or later for their originality must be noticed and can be followed almost blindly. 5/6
